This issue is becoming so important at international level in the last 20 years, that the well-known International Standard Organization (ISO) began in 2005 the works for the formal creation of the new voluntary international standard ISO 26000 on Social Responsibility -not certifiable in its first version. It was published in November 2010. Dr. Bejar, SPE Director, participated in the Industry Group, representing ADS Mexicana SA de CV, in the Mexican Mirror Committee, together with 450 experts and 210 observers from one hundred countries, developing the standard.
In parallel and also with Dr. Béjar participation the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification, AC (IMNC) continues in with the task to redefine the Mexican Norm (NMX) voluntary on Social Responsibility, published in 2004 as the “Guidelines for the Implementation of a Management System Social Responsibility”, with the key NMX-SAST -004-IMNC-2004.
Similarly, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) has been promoting over the last 20 years social responsibility among all type and size of Mexican and Latin American companies through the ESR Recognition.
